Feeling stressed is a part of life, it happens from time to time. When something is inevitable, we can at least learn to manage it the best we can. How long and how intensely we allow ourselves to think stressful thoughts will determine the health of our mind. I've listed 5 things that really help me to manage my outlook in life. Doing the following 5 things every morning helps me to check my reactions and be able to reflect on my thoughts throughout the day. The programme corrects negative thoughts and removes discomfort and irritation in the body. 1. Intention Wake up with a purpose. The night before, set an alarm, arrange your clothes and the room for your morning practice, so that you wake up to your commitment. Remind yourself why you are doing this as you get up.
2. Breath and movements Practice Asanas - participate in an online class or even just do 5 sun salutations by yourself to change the way you feel. It's invaluable to start the day with the right frame of mind together with your body feeling robust and strong. Every practice is a good practice - however long it takes. Note, it's important to take each inhale and exhale slowly and fully. The quality of your breath affects the quality of your movements, postures, coordination, endurance and your mind. 3. Meditation Meditation clears your mind. It will help you reduce the time and energy spent thinking about the past and future - depression, anger, fear and anxiety are the results of spending too much time pondering on the past events and possible future outcomes. Such negative emotions are also caused by unrealistic expectations and beliefs if they are unattainable. This thinking pattern further inflates the feeling of what we lack in our lives. Meditation makes us see our thoughts so that we can make peace with them and let them go. 4. Mindsets Remind yourself what you have right now and stop thinking about what you don't have - health, food, clean water, warmth and comfort as well as people who care about you. Walk away from ideas and situations which cause anxiety - however much you feel attracted to them. 5. Secret ingredient - Gratitude Feel gratitude whenever you can, even you don't feel like it. Let's find joy in this slower pace of life. Recognise the quietness and cleaner air in our environment. When you feel anxious and feel like a victim, take deep breaths to reset your perspective. Find positives in every situation.
